A stall on ‘Tofu’ [a Chinese protein-rich food, extracted from soyabean. Used in salads and various cooked food] was also put up to convey the nutritional value of the food to the visitors.

The event also included a quiz competition for children and ‘Healthy Cooking’ competition. A panel of paediatricians, gynaecologists and physicians who were present to judge the competition observed that children seemed to possess a fairly good knowledge of ‘healthy food and eating’ and essential ingredients of their healthy diet.

Mrs Chitra Damle was adjudged the winner in the cooking competition. Her 'Steam Cooked Wheat Cake' recipe, rich in protein content is suitable for convalescence and growing children.

The sessions proved to be a true knowledge imparter for the audience gathered. The events acted as a common platform for exchange of ideas and even tips for expecting mothers on baby care, preparing them for the post-natal phase.

The event also beckoned some interesting facts on Women of Today. The interactive session noted a strong change in the attitude of present-day women. It marked that the present-day women are empowered to think about themselves and, there is a thirst for knowledge in them.
